Driving with expired tags results in fines, towing, and penalties based on how late the registration is.
If you fail to appear in court after a citation
Not resolving a citation results in license suspension and a civil assessment of up to $300 on top of the original ticket.
If you drive in a carpool lane illegally
Unauthorized use of HOV lanes during restricted hours carries a hefty fine and may include DMV points.
If you fail to stop at a stop sign
California law requires a full stop at stop signs. Rolling through is considered a violation and may increase your insurance rates.
If you text or use a handheld phone while driving
